THE WINE CELLAR
Located at Monforte d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe hills, the estate was founded in 1996, when Pier Paolo Monti purchased a few vineyards in the area as well as the adjacent farmstead, and built the winery on the latter's premises. The vineyards cover a total of approximately 16 hectares (25 acres) and 6 varieties: Barbera d'Alba, Nebbiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and two white grapes, Riesling Renano (Rheinriesling) and Chardonnay. The newly built winery is functional in layout, state-of-the-art in equipment, with separate, temperature-controlled areas for each phase from fermentation to bottling. In the underground cellars, the wines are matured and aged in oak. Attentive vineyard management, modern vinification and meticulous élevage yield a range of characterful, top-quality wines.
