Immediaely after the war  Beatrice and Ferdinando fell in love with this beautiful and unique farmhouse with the most wonderful views over our hills, surrounded by the most breathtaking Alps. In 1974, to enable the continuity of the winery, their daughter, Giovanna Rizzolio, moved permanantly into the farmhouse.  Here she found her fondest memories. Cascina delle Rose is a small business acquired from the Rizzolio family in 1948. It is situated in Rio Sordo, one of the historical cru of Barbaresco. The property consists of 5 hectares: 3,6 of vineyard and 1,2 is used for hazelnuts, the rest consists of a little wood and the house. Davide, the eldest son, is now the manager of the estate, however the whole family are involved in all processes. Our methods include mechanical weeding, the limitation of products based on copper and sulfur resulting in low environmental impact. The target is always harmony and respect for ourselves and the environment us.
