THE WINE CELLAR

Since 1340, and 19 generations the family have managed the Monfalletto property in the town of La Morra, the center of the production of Barolo wine. Even today, the property is entirely family-run. Giovanni Cordero di Montezemolo and his children Elena and Alberto are the protagonists of this millennium. Currently, the total vineyard area of grape production for all Cordero di Montezemolo wines is 38 hectares (94 acres). The land has always been cultivated with the various local varieties (Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Barbera, Arneis), selected and distinctly planted according to sun exposure, type of soil and the altitude. Today, the wine cellar and the farmhouse, after some years of restructuring and extension, it is a perfect symbol and example of integrated architecture, where ancient traditional structures are elegantly melded to more recent and revolutionary interventions.
