THE WINE CELLAR
The Gallo family is dedicated to wine-growing in Montabone since 1900, always transforming their own grapes into fine, high quality wines. The current owner is now Giovanni Gallo, who well supported by his sons Carlo and Guido and his wife Fabia continues the work with a lot of passion. The vineyard area is about 14 hectares, divided among Moscato, Brachetto, Barbera, Cortese, Dolcetto, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, worked with care and skill, combining new technologies in agriculture with traditional processes. In the historic cellar, dating back to 1831, you can taste all the production of the cellar, which includes DOCG wines like Barbera d'Asti, Barbera d'Asti Superiore, Brachetto d'Acqui, Moscato d'Asti; DOC wines like Dolcetto d'Asti, Piemonte Chardonnay, Monferrato Bianco, Freisa d'Asti, Cortese Alto Monferrato, Barbera del Monferrato sparkling and even a classic method Spumante wine and a Passito called “Cuculo”, made with raisined Brachetto grapes.
