Barolo Docg

Description

Born in the mid-nineteenth century on initiative of Marquise Giulia Colbert Falletti and Count Camillo Benso di Cavour, Barolo was soon served at the Savoy court and in the courts of Europe, so as to be nicknamed "the king of wines, wine of kings". Now renowned worldwide, it is a red meditation wine, produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes grown in 11 towns located in the “Langa of Barolo”. Just like Barbaresco, its label often includes one of the 181 Additional Geographical References, i.e. an indication of the selected production area selected based on the composition of the soil and the location and exposure of the vineyards, identified by a specific product specification.

DO YOU KNOW

Barolo is excellent paired with meat dishes, especially venison or poultry. We recommend trying it as an accompaniment to cheese with an intense flavour (possibly hard cheese) or with tea biscuits. Barolo is an excellent meditation wine: it can be sipped in between meals. Often used to cook roasts, stews, risotto with Barolo and eel.
Serve at 18-20 °C in a balloon-shaped or a capacious stem-glassed wine.
