Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese Doc

Description

This is a distinctive red wine, made from Grignolino grapes grown in the hilly areas in the province of Alessandria, more properly of the Monferrato region from which it takes its name. This area lends itself especially to the cultivation of this local vine.

Production regulations: D.P.R. June 26, 1974.
Grape variety: Grignolino from the 90% to 100%; Freisa from 0% to 10%.
Colour: light ruby red, that turns to orange with the ageing.
Bouquet: characteristic, delicate.
Taste: dry, slightly tannic, pleasantly bitter with a characteristic aftertaste.
Minimum alcohol content: 11% vol.

Grignolino del Monferrato is a red wine to be enjoyed throughout meal. Excellent with soups and broths, meat and fish dishes. Absolutely perfect with Piedmontese fritto misto (mixed fried fish) and the finanziera (chicken livers Banker’s style). Serving temperature: 16-18 °C.
